Sandwich Village by Kathryn Kleekamp

Quaint Little Villages Here and There!

Reviewed May 6, 2014

Once again I was prompted to do something out of the ordinary. On a canceled trip off Cape I decided to detour through the Historic District of Sandwich. For anyone familiar with Patty Page’s “Old Cape Cod” this is the ultimate! Gracious homes, steepled churches, ponds and a town hall in the center of it all make for an idyllic setting. Spring added to the beauty as there were azaleas, magnolia and a variety of flowers blooming. Much of the district can be accomplished on foot. Among the B & B’s are numerous places to eat and shops offering unusual goods. There is no shortage of historical landmarks with plaques describing their places in history as well as museums, of them, The Glass and The Heritage, both worth the time and money.
